About Jennifer Bowles
Raised just outside of Atlanta, Georgia, Jennifer began training in ballet at age four. As a teenager she performed with the Atlanta Ballet and attended the American Ballet Theatre summer intensive, among other programs. Soon after, she shifted her focus to theater, when she got cast in her high school?s production of “How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying.” Upon graduating, she attended the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and received a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre.
After moving to New York, Jennifer hit the road on two national tours, “The Drowsy Chaperone” and “Wonderful Town”, and spent some time in Los Angeles performing in the World Premiere of “Minsky’s” at the Ahmanson Theatre. She was recently featured in an episode of the HBO drama Boardwalk Empire, and was a backup dancer for Kanye West on Saturday Night Live. She recently made her Broadway debut in “American Idiot”.
She is a longtime volunteer at the Office of Recycling Outreach and Education and just loves her friends over at GrowNYC. She has always been inspired by classic rock and folk music, and secretly aspires to be a great autoharpist like Mother Maybelle Carter. When she grows old, she hopes to be just like Ruth Gordon in “Harold and Maude.”
